About the Role
The Researcher is responsible for processing products related to pre-employment background applications including MVRs, civil and criminal court cases, registries, drug testing and OFAC.
Start Date: March 9, 2026
Minimum Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in a related field
- Background in customer service or research/investigative work
- Strong internet research skills
- Familiarity with the legal or court system is an asset
- Knowledge of background screening processes is an asset
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software
Responsibilities
- Retrieve and enter data from computer/web-based systems, files and documents related to applicant history
- Locate information quickly and accurately in accordance with applicable laws and procedures
- Use software programs to provide instant criminal results to clients
- Examine internet databases to investigate and adjudicate criminal records
- Perform data entry using spreadsheet or database commands
- Conduct extensive internet searches to supplement criminal records
- Analyze collected information to identify potential problems or discrepancies
- Contact clients and outside resources via phone to verify information
- Update order statuses appropriately
- Handle confidential information responsibly and with good judgment
- Monitor and implement processing and system changes
