Edward B. Beharry & Company Limited is seeking a talented Product Development Technical Officer to join our innovation team. This is an exciting opportunity for a food science professional to contribute to the development of new products and support our commitment to quality and excellence.
Position Overview
The Product Development Technical Officer assists in developing new products by conducting research, formulating and testing products, and supporting laboratory and pilot-scale trials. This role is critical to our product innovation and quality assurance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and development for new product formulations
- Formulate and test products in laboratory and pilot-scale settings
- Analyze product performance and quality parameters
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance on specifications and standards
- Conduct shelf-life studies and stability testing
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports to support product scale-up and new product launches
- Support the transition from development to commercial production
- Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a related food science discipline
Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in product development, quality assurance, or food manufacturing
Essential Skills:
- Proficiency in data analysis and technical reporting
- Understanding of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards
