Position Overview
Insurance Clerical Staff will provide essential administrative and customer service support, handling insurance applications, claims processing, and client interactions while maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Insurance Operations
- Processing insurance applications, claims, and policy renewals
- Review and verify insurance documentation
- Support underwriting and claims departments
- Handle policy modifications and updates
Records Management
- Maintaining and updating client records in the database
- Managing and organizing insurance files and documents
- Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of client information
- Archive and retrieve documents as needed
Customer Service & Communication
- Assisting with customer inquiries professionally
- Provide information about insurance products and services
- Respond to client questions via phone, email, and in-person
- Ensure excellent customer experience
Administrative Support
- Providing administrative support to various departments
- Preparing reports and correspondence for clients and internal teams
- Schedule appointments and manage calendars
- Support day-to-day office operations
Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- Five CSEC subjects including English Language and Mathematics (required)
Experience
- Experience in insurance or clerical support, though not compulsory, would be an asset
- Previous customer service experience beneficial
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in computer applications (MS Office)
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment
