Location: 72 Light Street, Alberttown, Georgetown
Position Overview
As a Diesel Mechanic at Tony’s Auto Spares, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of diesel engines and transmissions, specializing in Toyota vehicles. This hands-on role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for automotive excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Diesel Engine Repair & Maintenance
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related systems
- Specialize in repairs for Toyota Hilux and Toyota Land Cruiser Pick-Up vehicles
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on diesel engines
- Ensure all repairs meet industry quality and safety standards
- Test and verify engine performance after repairs
Transmission Work
- Diagnose and repair transmission systems
- Perform maintenance and servicing of transmissions
- Ensure smooth and reliable transmission performance
- Replace or rebuild transmission components as needed
Vehicle Diagnostics & Assessment
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and assessments
- Identify mechanical issues and recommend appropriate solutions
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot problems
- Provide accurate estimates and repair recommendations to customers
Workshop Operations
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Properly store and maintain tools and equipment
- Follow workshop safety protocols and procedures
- Assist with other mechanical tasks as required
- Stay updated on the latest diesel engine technologies and repair techniques
Customer Service
- Interact with customers in a professional and pleasant manner
- Communicate repair details and progress clearly
- Ensure customer satisfaction with all work completed
- Represent Tony’s Auto Spares with professionalism
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a similar role (required)
Technical Expertise
- Skilled in repairing diesel engines and transmissions (required)
- Specialized knowledge of Toyota vehicles, particularly:
- Toyota Hilux
- Toyota Land Cruiser Pick-Up
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and components
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment
Licensing
- Valid driver’s license (required)
