Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation is seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Quality Improvement Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to enhancing the standards and delivery of healthcare services at one of Guyana’s premier healthcare facilities.

Position Overview
As a Quality Improvement Assistant, you will support the hospital’s efforts to continuously improve the quality of care, services, and operations. This role involves collecting and analyzing data, assisting with the development of improvement initiatives, and helping ensure that the hospital maintains the highest standards of patient care and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection & Analysis
- Collect data related to patient care, hospital operations, and service delivery
- Organize and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Assist in preparing reports and summaries based on collected data
- Support the quality improvement team with research and findings
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
Quality Monitoring
- Assist in monitoring the quality of hospital services and operations
- Help track key performance indicators and quality metrics
- Support audits and assessments of hospital processes
- Identify areas where standards can be improved
- Follow up on quality improvement recommendations
Process & Standards Improvement
- Support the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives
- Assist in reviewing hospital policies and procedures for potential improvements
- Help ensure compliance with healthcare quality standards and regulations
- Contribute ideas and suggestions to enhance operational efficiency
- Participate in meetings and discussions on quality improvement strategies
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to quality improvement activities
- Assist in drafting reports for management and stakeholders
- Keep records of all quality improvement projects and outcomes
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, organized, and accessible
- Support the communication of quality findings to relevant departments
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the quality improvement team and other hospital departments
- Coordinate with staff at various levels to gather information and feedback
- Support training and awareness initiatives related to quality standards
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement across the hospital
Requirements
Education
- Five (5) subjects including English Language at G.C.E. ‘O’ Level or CXC (General) at Grades I, II, or III
Additional Qualifications (Asset)
- A Certificate in Information Technology would be an asset

- Attention to detail and accuracy

- Basic computer literacy and data entry skills
- Organized and self-motivated

Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in quality improvement, data analysis, or healthcare administration would be an asset
- Familiarity with hospital or healthcare operations preferred
